All Utrecht will be in celebratory mood in 2013
On 11 April 1713, the European superpowers signed a unique agreement: the Treaty of Utrecht. It marked a turning point in history. Three hundred years later, we will celebrate the Treaty of Utrecht with a grand cultural programme. Over six weekends, you can enjoy a large number of cultural events.
300th anniversary of the Treaty of Utrecht: the programme
Utrecht will commemorate this significant event in 2013 with pomp and ceremony, theatre, dance and opera, visual art and VJs, debate and literature, with all the museums and festivals, in the city and the countryside, in forts and country estates. The programme will link art and culture with current social issues. The central themes are: the power of diversity, of art and culture, and of knowledge exchange for an innovative society.
